Meet the Angel Radio Team Leaders

Tony started Angel Radio as a pirate station in 1999 and, after two raids, decided to get a short term licence to broadcast and persuade the authorities to issue a full long-term licence. In 2002, after running several short- term broadcasts, Angel was given a 1-year licence, which, in 2006, became a full-time licence.

Martin joined Angel Radio in 1999 while the station was broadcasting as a pirate station. Martin oversaw the running of Angel Radio Isle of Wight for several years. He eventually left Angel to set up his own station, The Flash, which broadcasts on Angel Radio's own DAB transmitter to Portsmouth, Havant, Gosport and the surrounding area.

Ash works behind the scenes, but is one of the most important members of the Angel team. Before Ash joined us we were only broadcasting with one low-power FM transmitter. Ash has, since 2010, enabled us to extend our coverage with two high-power FM transmitters and around 50 DAB transmitters. Ash also runs AngelGOLD.

Mark joined Angel Radio many years ago following a meeting held to recruit new presenters. Mark previously broadcast on QA Hospital Radio. Mark trains new presenters, and he is the Station Manager for Angel Radio's Swinging Radio 60s.

Bob Mason ensures that Angel Radio's Sunday morning old-style church service team are on-air on their allotted dates and times. Bob's team includes Jos McCabe, Rob Milliken, and Jim Jameson.

Alison has been Angel Radio's bookkeeper for many years and is responsible for keeping Angel Radio on-air during very difficult financial periods. Alison not only looks after our day-to-day banking, she also puts in our tax returns, and claims Gift Aid and VAT from HMRC.

Alison runs her own small business Alison Sheppard Accounting.

Jo coordinates and takes the minutes for Angel Radio's trustee meetings. Since 2012, when Angel Radio's Station Manager lost much of his sight, Jo has been his driver, taking him to deliver his talks and off-site recording sessions. Jo also runs our table top sales.

Janice is a popular celebrant who presents a gentle thoughtful 2-hour programme on Angel Radio. She also coordinates the sales of Angel Radio unique range of merchandise,

You hear Sarah's voice more than any other on Angel Radio. Sarah has been Angel Radio's main voiceover since 2005 and does most of our sponsor, adverts, and general day-to-day announcements. Sarah's company is called Portly Pig Productions and Sarah's voice can also be heard in many places, including television adverts and London underground tannoy announcements.
