The Breakfast Bustle was originally going to be called The Manager's Special. The programme has had several theme tunes including one called 'Breakfast Bustle'.
The idea behind the programme is to provide information to help people decide what to do and where to go over the forthcoming week. We also provide an accurate local weather forecast, sponsored by Ivy of West Ashling. Physical and mental excercise is an important part of the programme and to this end we have puzzles, music to dance to, and chair excercises for older people.
The Breakfast Bustle is also a 'one-stop shop' for information provided by Havant Arts Centre, Portsmouth and Havant councils, Age Concern and other groups providing services for older people. It's also your first opportunity to hear the day's programme schedule.
In the past 12 months we have, during the programme, broadcast over 3000 items of information, free of charge, for local community groups.
The Breakfast Bustle is important as it is one of the few Angel Radio programmes to have long-term consistancy while most of our shows have limited runs. Breakfast Bustle is the only live programme on air every single day of the year. We also feature the birthdays and anniversarys of rich and famous people from the past, and we celebrate those of our local listeners.
